All 3 in 1

This is a special cakes. Why I said that, It's a 3 in 1 flavours cake and made with 3 in 1 designs. I accidentally set this trend of using thress different designs for a 3 tier cakes. Being white, it's actually easier to decorate this cake with whatever flowers that you can think off. Using fresh flowers to decorate a white cake is just perfect. The top is fruit, middle cake is chocolate mud cake and the base is a butter cake. Why need 3 flavours? Easy peasy answer. I think fruit cake is still the best cake to have for a wedding as people don't get to eat fruit cake everyday or every occassion. So to mark an important occassion like wedding, it's always good and appropriate to serve your guest with a nice and tasty fruit cake. Having said that, not everyone likes fruit cake as it is known for its sweetness. To carter for those people who do not fancy sweet cake, I would recommend a butter cake. This is the cake that can be eaten by everyone but still do not forget the little ones. Children love weddings as much as adults do. Therefore to serve them, any chocolate cake would be fine. So those who are planning to have a wedding cake for your coming celebration, I hope this tip will help.

Before I forget to mention. The cake above baked and decorated for Dr. Caroline's sister wedding held in Tamparuli during the kaamatan holiday. She is the lady boss of Spices Indian Restaurant at Alam Mesra. Go and visit her and say hi..you may get a free teh tarik after your meal.

HOT DOG! iT'S A Mickey Mouse Clubhouse..

sHAPPY BIRTHDAY ETHAN!

the cuppies sticker prepared by the birthday boy's mum, joyce..
1 Year Ethan
this was last's year birthday for Joyce's boy. He was into Moo Moo and animal theme. Understood as having a 1 year old baby who loves animal very much this is a perfect cake for a 1 year old.
The Boy now just celebrated his 2nd birthday and this time it's HOTDOG! HOTDOG!..eh,...MICKEY MOUSE THEME. So, for those who has a boy or girl approaching 2 years, giving him/her a MICKEY MOUSE OR MINNIE MOUSE theme cake is appropriate. For 3 years old?? Wait till Joyce give me another assignment next year.. Enjoy the photos...

I can make her my cupcake model..Maya, daughter of Sandra owner of Miabambina According to Joyce, the purple puppies were a hit. This girl ( Maya) does not want to leave her chair which is nearer to the table where they put all the cake and cupcakes. Her aimed was to get this Limited Edition Minnie Mouse cuppies in Purple Colour and SHE DID!! Look how determined she is. Trying to choeese which one to take.. The Minne Mouse all gone to the girls! Look at the small hand, while chit chating the cute hand is trying to get the Star Nice arrangement by Joyce. in 2008, This is his cake..and in 2009, the boy becomes a fan of Mickey Mouse. The close up..Sorry a bit blur..

For the baby girls

Made quite a number of pink cake for 1 year old. I think pink is still suitable for baby girl and blue for baby boy.Unless the parents ask me to experiment with different colour, I'll stick to these colours for a while.Furthermore it's hard to get a good colour here. I may have to start buying from overseas again...

Teddy Bear Theme

CD ( Cloth Diaper) On A Cake

Please don't change your URL..it's not that you have clicked a wrong website. This is not a website that sells CDs ( Cloth Diaper) ( But the ownner of this site does use CD and strongly recommend the use of CDs). Those items were use in my recent cake project. In fact when I brought them to my working station, my helper gave me a puzzle look. " Mau buat apa tu?" Mau Cuci" ( when she just washed them) Then I smiled and told her that I am making blanket and CD for a mummy who is addicted to cloth diapers. Then she gave me a long OOOOOOOOOOOOOhhhh

It was fun making those cute CDs. In fact it was even fun to watch Children drooling over them and even ate them. I saw with my own eyes three teenagers took the CD, held them for a while, went into the house, came out, still holding the CDs and ate them. It's not that it can't be eaten..it's just in real thing it is actually a diaper( if you know what i mean hehe). Well, thanks to osindak who gave me a new task to make those CDs.. Mommies who use Cds can easily noticed the cow print and the 1 size that I used. Tessa's mummy kept the baby for Tessa. I could hear the children asking around if the baby can be eaten. If yes, I am not sure if the baby survive a minute because as soon as the birthday song is over, the cake look so empty..all Cds, bottles were gone in seconds. Lesson learned, next time I'll make more ya kids. I didn't know all of you also love CDs like Tessa's mummy.( wink)

I made this one for Florence mother sometime in April. Florence called me all the way from Singapore and wanted to order a piggy cake for her mum. So I think this look like a female piggy. How do a make one look like? Just wait and see..

Fondant Covered Cheesecake

Have you seen cheesecake like this one?

I find it's hard to decorate cheesecake. So normally I told my customer that I can only do simple decoration with cheesecake until Viview ordered this cake for her mother. I came up with an idea to use fondant on top. This is oreo cheesecake so it look rather plain as I have put all the oreo in the cake. I have left two pieces of oreo to put on top of the cake but i have forgottern to use it.

Castle Cake

Girls do love fairy tales. I did or may be I still do. You can't really present your little girl with her prince charming yet, so the closest is a princess and a castle. Those who had presented a princess cake for their girls would like to have something else this year. So, do you mind if I'll make them a castle instead? This is fun. I always find it fun to make a new cake as the thrill to make something from scratch is enjoyable, as long as I have at least 5 hours to spare before I send the cake. I made this the night before I went to Labuan. Arranged for the castle to be delivered to Marina club and while on the Ferry to Labuan, I still worried if the castle arrived safely. Lucky it did and Alice loves her cake. It's for her daughters double birthday celebration.

This is a 4kg + Choc mud cake and price at RM250

Exploring Dora

I always wonder how people can make dresses, make bags, shoes etc etc which I can't do. Have you ever wonder how people decorate cakes? I did and still do until now. It's an art and not that easy I have to admit. There are many style of decoration. I happened to meet Nina who is very good at drawing on a cake and 'painting' the cake beautifully. I ordered her cake for my daughter 1 month to 1 year cake which we celebrated in KL early this year. To my surprised, she told me she loves my work and also my blog. It was funny as I too love her creativity. It is just obvious that we have different style of decorating. She told me she needs at least 2 hours to decorate her cake or her type of decoration. Mind you,two hours just for decorating and not preparing the icing, the colour, washing etc etc. Since I am in this line too, I understand that when I pay for her cake, it's not just the cake, it's for the artwork too.

So last sunday I did her type of decorating, half way. Tara told me her dd love Dora the explorer and asked if I can make a Dora cake. I told her I will try. I know I need to either buy a figurine, draw a Dora or make a Dora with fondant. I have 3 choices. I wanted to try drawing but since every week I have cake to decorate and by the time I finished I am alread tired, I could not find time to practise. What I did, made Dora with fondant, prepared the background and decorated the background with flowers and butterflies. Tara told me they like the butter cake and Kendra loves her Dora. She wanted another Dora cake .Well, next year I will sure make her a better Dora and this time together with the monkey. This reminded me of Nina text messages to me when I ordered her cake " You nak monkey or not? if nak Monkey, tambah RM10"...hahaha

For a son and a Dad

From a dad and a son....

Hello..

Before I forget, let's look at last week's cakes..I think I really need to set a day to upload pictures for this blogs otherwise it will look so dull. Julian really into challenging me to do more 3D cakes. (grin) His first order was a 1 year old cake for his son, Raelan who turned 1 year old on the 16th April 2009. He and his wife Morin wanted a Mickey Mouse theme but wanted to have pocoyo and Tigger on the cake too. I kind of understand as those are all TV characted and are his son's favourite characters. I wanted to do a big picture of Mickey Mouse but the face look quite fierce so after much thought I decided to use the smaller cutter of Mickey mouse and add two Pocoyo faces on it. Sorry Raelan, aunty didn't manage to make Tigger for you this time. While we were 'smsing' about the cake, Julian already told me his next and next cake order and he said he wanted a WWE cake for his dad. My mind went blank. I can imagine man with big muscle and I am clueless how to make them, the muscle I mean. I was hoping that I can get the figurines as making them will really consume lots of time and I am not ready to venture into it given the limited time that I have ( I have other cakes to decorate too) . Thank God, while I was out for lunch, I managed to get the figurines of John Cena and Triple H from one of a toy shop. I asked the girl if the figurines are real WWE wrestler or they are simply nobody, just a figurine who happened to have big muscles. She said, yes they are but only certain wrestlers are here she added " Yang kau pegang tu paling kuat dan famous juga" and she's refering to John Cena. She then asked me to change another one to Tripple H. I have taken Tripple H earlier but when I looked that he is having his shirt on, I put him back inside the window display otherwise I have taken both strong wrestler while having zero knowledge about WWE. When I have more time ( and I am not sure when will this be...hehe) I am sure will take time to do the figurine of WWE star. Who should I start? Give me the easiest face to shape..

Father's day is around the corner. Thinking about giving this cake to your dad? Just make sure you tell me who is his favourite WWE star ok..
